Digging up the concrete and demolishing all the unwanted structures was always going to be the fun bit, but at the same time seemed like such a huge and scary bit. We hadn't managed to get on site for two days, so when we arrived there this morning to find most of the concrete had been demolished and dug up, it was a shock - but a very good shock. It's transformed the site!
At the moment it feels like each time we arrive we can see our 'house' more clearly, and we are loving it! Here's a video and some photos of the work today.
This little piece made the earth shake...
Today, and before ... Concrete dug up and waiting for the crusher next week. It will then all be recycled as hardcore for the driveway etc. The cattle shed lean-to in the middle of the barns is staying for a while longer so the builders have somewhere undercover to work and store stuff out of the mud. The third picture is our attempt at an extension to the Quantocks...!
Stay tuned for the next thrilling instalment!
